June 10 fireworksthere were fireworks tonight over downtown manhattan for some reason. is it strange that i still think of irene whenever i see fireworks from that 4th of july bbq 2 years ago? May 10 still at work?is there something wrong when 1. at 10pm you get a response from Tom to an email you sent out @ 8:30 2. you respond within a minute of reading it 3. you write an email to a co-worker about something that needs to be done 4. you get a response @ 10:13pm saying "will do tomorrow" somehow i don't think we're this efficient *during* office hours. remote desktop ftw i guess? February 20 i got cdsi got a slew of new music to enjoy. my brother mailed me 4 cd's which arrived on saturday (just in time  ) sarah blasko, an aussie compilation (she will have her way, the songs of time & neil finn), the new ben lee and the solo release from bernard fanning (singer of powderfinger which sounds like the aussie equivalent of the hip in terms of intercountry fans)other than that was a fairly good weekend. went to hector and barb's engagement party yesterday at tavern on the green (wow, what a room for the private party) then out for steaks tonight. other than that nothing really new happening ... gosh is it almost march already? January 29 the pita pit!wow, flashback to things i had forgotten about waterloo. stopped by the pita pit outside the IFC theatre at 4th st (after going in to see manderlay on a spur-of-the-moment-have-nothing-better-to-do feeling). wow, i had forgotten all those days of stopping by the pita shops in the UW plazas *sigh* university, feels so long ago. my best frand is 27 (!! >.<) i'm going to be 26 soon and mr. canada is getting married >.<
other than that i was browing through the iTunes store and stumbled upon their "iTunes Essentials -> Genres & History" section. Their 00's indie and alt country and canadian indies were a sort of small trip back through memory lane
i think emeliana torrini is in nyc next week... January 21 busy but fun weekend so far...quick update on the past 2/3 weekends.... first weekend of the year went out to *kinda* look at apartments because i got this idea that i wanted to move to the west village... just getting fed up with my current neighbourhood.. also dropped by pants to get hemmed (yah!) last weekend went out to pick up my pants and spent two and a half days cleaning/rearranging my apartmetn over the long weekend realizing that i could spend the equivalent of a brokers fee (2k+) to make my place much better ... got two intermetro shelves and moved my tv to the near corner near the bathroom, moved my stereo out to the middle of the aparment (with a dual seperated couch structure now). made the area when i walk in more organized too with a coat rack there and a small cabinet thingie.... we'll see how long this lasts ... btw, i found a LOT of dust bunnies hiding around the place considering it's been over a year since i actually really *cleaned*
but friday was bowling night at ... THE PORT AUTHORITY. 7 rounds of beers and 4 games of bowling later (with mixed trivia along the way) with joe, ryan, kevin and the mik i shlopped on home. went out today and saw underworld today with hector then parked ourselves at the banshee before heading back to his/barb's apartment to eat sushi and watch the chris farley SNL dvd. fun fun. wow, lots of wedding talk as well which was interesteing if not a bit intimidating (the costs! the costs!) it was gorgeous otday as well, hitting well over 10 degrees in the afternoon. nothing like walking out of the movies in mid january at around 4:30 and not really needin a jacket!
